Instructions

  1. Heat butter or oil in a large skillet. Add the onion and cook for 5–7 minutes until soft.
  2. Add the mushrooms and cook for 8–10 minutes, until they release their moisture and begin to brown.
  3. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the paprika and caraway seeds.
  4. Add the garlic and bell pepper, then return to low heat and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Pour in the broth and season with salt and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the sour cream and flour. Add a few spoonfuls of the hot sauce and whisk until smooth.
  7. Stir the sour cream mixture into the skillet. Simmer gently for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce becomes creamy and slightly thick.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  9. Serve hot over nokedli, egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
