These golden puff pastry treats are light, flaky, and filled with a creamy vanilla flavor. With just a package of puff pastry and vanilla pudding powder, they make an easy dessert for breakfast, afternoon coffee, or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding powder
- 1 cup cold milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package directions using the cold milk. Chill until thickened.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into strips or rectangles.
- Add a small amount of vanilla pudding to each piece of pastry. Fold or twist the pastry to enclose the filling.
- Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops lightly with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Allow them to cool slightly, then dust generously with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips
- Keep the puff pastry cold while working with it for the flakiest texture.
- Don’t overfill the pastry, as the pudding can escape during baking.
- Let the finished pastries cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
These simple puff pastry treats are crisp on the outside, creamy in the center, and wonderfully easy to make.
