
Hungarian fried bread, better known as Lángos, is one of Hungary’s most beloved street foods. It is made from a soft yeast dough that is stretched by hand and fried until golden and crisp on the outside while remaining fluffy inside.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ cup warm milk
- Oil, for deep frying
For the Traditional Topping
- 2–3 garlic cloves
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup grated cheese
- Salt, to taste
